  Treatment General Considerations

Publication Date :Jun 29, 2010

It is a complicated task to compare various treatments for ADHD due to the fact that the patient population, children and adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is quite a heterogeneous group and because the effects of treatment are quite inconsistent on various areas of functioning. In addition, there have been other confounding variables such as the variations among methods of assessment and other complex factors related not only to patients themselves but also their family, school, and psychosocial environments.  Non-pharmacological treatments have often not been well described and have frequently differed dramatically across various research studies.
